Do not buy too small or too tight clothes; it´s NEVER flattering!
Avoid too big clothing – this can look borrowed and huge! But also cool: there’s a very fine line here!
Remember that dark/solid colors make you look slimmer and light/shiny colors the opposite.
Wrap styled tops and dresses give V-illusion and a great fit on most women!
Draw the attention to your waistline. Roll up your sleeves to your elbows, prefer mid/high rise pants, choose tailored jackets over boxier styles! Do a half tuck on your shirt to create a higher waist.
Create a longer silhouette with tonal dressing: same colored pants & shirt, paired with a contrasting jacket.
Loose ¾ length sleeves are always flattering!
Be aware that shorts/skirts/cropped pants should end at the slimmest part of your legs. A seamstress can always adjust the length to be perfect for you!
A voluminous outfit needs some skin! Show contrasting slim parts; your ankles, wrists or shoulders to keep your proportions in tact. During colder seasons a tight sock bootie is a great choice with wide legged & cropped pants… and a tight polo neck under dresses. RULE: volume + slim + skin!
Go for tops, jumpers and jackets that end above or lower than your hip’s widest part. To front/side tuck a jumper is a great trick, this creates asymmetrical layers and a more interesting silhouette!
Avoid to chop off your body with too many cropped lenghts in one outfit.
Notice that pockets and seams can make a huge difference. Go for vertical seams and hidden pockets if you want to look longer and slimmer!
A simple A-lined skirt/dress is always flattering.
Avoid extra volume (pleates, layers, pockets) around your hips and thighs. Opt for flat styled pleating around your tummy.
Choose tonal colors for a lengthening effect. Wear same colored tights as your dress. Or go for same colored shoes as your pants/legs (tights). A high heel in nude makes your bare legs look longer!
Remember that even a 3cm heel gives you a more feminine posture! Keep in mind that a steady, chunky heel or comfortable wedges are wardrobe staples as well.
